2 YEARS AFTER THE LAST EDITION.... AND THE FANZINE HAS A NEW GOAL ON ITS RELAUNCH

Youth football in Swansea is set to prosper with the return of “A Touch Far Vetched!” after a two year absence. Once again the fanzine will be raising money for youth development at Swansea City Football Club through its newly launched Pounds for Pennock campaign and funds have already been earmarked to purchase wet weather jackets for substitute players in all age groups, starting with the club’s Under 9’s side.

The fanzine has also unveiled ambitious plans to provide kits and equipment for junior league football sides within the Swans’ catchment area through its Community Chest scheme. More than £500 has been put into the chest by The Optic Shop and this money is being used to provide brand new Bergoni kits for Landore Colts U7’s and Cwm Albion Colts U14’s. The ultimate aim is to provide at least five sides with new kits, one for each issue of “ATFV!” planned this season.

We’re back... We’re here to stay... and we aim to provide funding for the future generation of football in Swansea!

FANZINE SCORES A £2,000 HIT FOR SWANS YOUNGSTERS

Swansea City fanzine "A Touch Far Vetched!" has reached a milestone in its development - after only nine issues. The not-for-profit magazine has raised more than £2,000 to help the club's youth development programme.

Launched at the end of the 2004/05 season, the fanzine has proved a hit with supporters, and money generated by selling it has been donated to the club.

So far its readers have paid for things including player sponsorship, video equipment for filming youth team games, and new boots for rising teenage star Shaun MacDonald.

Editor Nigel Davies said he was delighted with the publication's success, adding: "The main aim of the fanzine is to raise money for youth football in Swansea, and passing the £2,000 mark in just nine issues is a fantastic achievement."

And now a word from our sponsors…

What better way to introduce our new “latest news” section than the announcement of a main sponsor for the fanzine? Yes indeed, “ATFV!” has taken a significant step forward by bagging Bergoni as a strategic partner. The deal will initially run until the end of the current season and will see the Bergoni name featured on all things “ATFV!” in return for an injection of cash plus access to the local sportswear firm’s extensive product range and experience.

And as an added bonus we get to utilise the services of Bergoni’s star employee…none other than Alan “The Legend” Curtis!
